RR Beep Beep Horn color

Went by an old post that the RR horn was "Testors paint 1234 purple" but it looks like off white?

I think it maybe a Knockoff import paint Scam? Any help would be great

How old is the can? How long did you shake it before spraying? It’s a light lavender purple, but not THAT light

I'll tell you this, that Testors may be fine at first but it will fade VERY quickly !! AMHIK !

Going back years ago, comparing to original and NOS horns I have, I got paint from some guy in PA near Philly was a very close match, don't recall his name or if he's still in business

YEP.. I was just showing him what that Testers color # brings up on Google. There is a paint that is correct color from Home Depot.. but of course only USA Home Depots. Can't get it here and of course can't find my box of horns and paperwork..

Hmmm, is this what you're thinking of? If so ... its not even close. It looks great on the shelf ... you think EUREKA, I've found it! Then you paint the part ... and it looks awesome ... until you put it next to the original colour !!!

There's a few places that sell it - just Google "road runner horn purple" or something like that. Someone on Ebay was selling it too. Shipping is an issue though ... ground only!

Also depends on what people think is the original color as well....

Repro with a later model year short bracket on it and too dark in color.

I'll throw my one up here - it was one of about six I got from Year One going back to 1989.....

That's on my A100 underneath now. The reason I have so many was because instead of a discount from them I traded for new horns.
