I have a 1969 GTX with the 440 6-pack. I recently bought the car. The manifold is an Edelbrock intake. The cam has been upgraded with about a .458 lift. The issue I am having is it will not smooth out until about 1500 - 1800 RPM's. If I increase the timing to about 19, then it does not smooth out until 2100 - 2500 RPM's. I just had the carbs overhauled and that did not change the problem. I am thinking it may be something with the distributor. Any suggestions ??
