hey guys what black did Chrysler use on the hoods of their factory muscle cars? I have a 66 satellite that I'm having a scoop put on and I want it black. Just want the correct black. Thanks.

It also partly depends on the year and factory. You say '66 so it's likely Organisol which was lacquer based. However, after May 1968 the St. Louis plant switched to matte black enamel and the hoods looked about the same.hey guys what black did Chrysler use on the hoods of their factory muscle cars? Don't wax it, just keep it clean and don't allow something like bird crap to be on it. FYI , don't put on something like flat black primer-even if it is epoxy primer , without at least using a satin paint top coat. And satin clear--all the better. ...........MOThanks guys for the help. The body shop is using a satin black with satin clear. Another question I have is when washing and waxing the car, what do you guys use on satin paint for protection. I think that waxing it would make it glossy. Thanks
