Dennis, the trim comes on the 500. That is a 500 convertible sporting a R/T strip. Or, itis a R/T convertible and the guy likes the trim of the 500.

I'm also a dork....and married the girl friend that didn't get it. 5 years later, she became an X! I did NOT make that same mistake again but I lost most of my friends and my 70 440 RT Challenger rag top in the process.....

Thanks for the pics and nice job! I also do things like this and take pictures. The wife doesn't think I'm a dork.. at least no more than normal.. but she isn't too into cars either. Pretty ambivalent, which works just fine

All the photos I found of Coronets with that side trim are from 1968 models. Maybe it was a specific year thing like the side scoops. I agree, they look better than no scoop or trim. Chck this out:
