I'm semi-broke now in my reg. checking account,
need to shuffle money over from savings,
where it collects interest
after buying everyone Christmas stuff & the shipping added to it :realcrazy:
I don't keep a huge amount in my checking,
just enough to cover monthly bills, with an extra $1,000-$1,500 or so
for just in case

for the past 2 years I've added like another $100 to it each month
didn't know when I was gonna' pull the trigger on my wheels & tires
I bought myself a cool present,
just worked out it was Christmas Eve when it arrived
saved for a while (2 years) to get it so I didn't need to have to dip into my reg. savings
a set of 5) wheels 16x8" 5.120"BS/25mm offset
Ultra Type 50 5 spoke machined/clear coated
& 5) tires Falken AW4AT LT285/75R16 (32.8"x11.2")
New for my 99 Dakota SLT 4x4, $2500+

I will post photos when installed & unwrapped,
it's all still in plastic on a pallet & can't see much
probably show it off, early next week...

tires it has is 25 year old casings, been worried about it for a while
no crack or splits etc., is garage kept too, so no real weather checking etc.
Just seemed like time
the Toyo Open Country 32"x11.5/15
(great tires, I got over 40k out of them & still have a lot of tread left)
on the stock wheels, I had
the replacements for the 32x11.5 were like the same price, as the new tires
$330 x 5 + = $1,650 for just tires
w/mounting & balancing, stems etc. about $88 per tire, plus sales tax 7.5%
& tire disposal + $20 per tire 5
needed extras added almost another $600 (normally where free before)
$2,250 in total for just 5 tires
I know they are great tires & a great service,
that's crazy
for the replacements
where I bought them originally at Less Swabb
for like $600 for 4, later went back for the 5th for $150-ish more

Custom Offset.com did the mounting & balancing free, & free shipping

sorry for the short book a lil' off subject

Sounds like you are like me in keeping tires for a long time lol

Knock on wood, I never had an issue with it, "yet"
but read all the horror stories about old casing
it's time after 25 years :poke:
even if the tires still look great, with 1/3rd of its tread still

Good call on replacing those 25 year old tires, I don't care how good they look that's just asking for trouble on the highway. How I know? I swapped my dated 20ish year old set of radials with modern Nitto NT555 (yeah I went nuts) here https://www.carid.com/tires/245-50-r16/ boy do they stick!
