Should I be more pissed at Jegs or FedEx?

USPS also contracts long haul mail between hubs and from airports to POs.
UPS even carries mail.

I'm a huge Summit fan
customer service is hands down "awesome"

I've had good dealings with Jegs too
had a little trouble with being shipped the wrong parts
they made it good, but was time I didn't like wasting

I prefer Summit & get the stuff quicker
most the stuff I get comes UPS, a select few are FedX

out of a couple hundred purchases, from Summit
I haven't had any damaged goods "yet"

Summit is great. I've never had issues with them. I once ordered an electronic ignition and distributor kit from Jegs for my 340 and when it arrived, I somehow got an oil pressure shutoff valve instead of the ignition module! I called and they said it was their mistake. They said I needed to mail the oil pressure shutoff valve back and after they got it, they would then send the ignition box. I tried to stay calm and asked why I should have to wait til they got back the wrong part before they shipped me the correct part. She eventually relented and said they would send the ignition box that day. I offered to mail back the oil pressure shutoff, but she said I could just keep it.

I’m sold on Summit as well. Never had a problem with them on anything. I’ve used Jegs a few times but my go to has always been Summit.

I got a trans from Jeggs, never again. It came in a semi, guy got stuck on the lawn (I said he could turn around there) took a neighbors backhoe to get iit out the guy gets rolling and just left, no thanks nothing. Ok open the box first thing I notice is a bolt in the dipstick tube in the pan. Holy hell batman, then notice all the line fittings are sheared off and painted over and no shifter arm, Holy hell. Ok open the pan and the pan gasket is half inside the pan, never would have sealed. OK calm down and call them tell them what happened, to a few months for them to send me the right fittings and shift lever. They threw me a T shirt. I demanded a 2 year warrantee. OK got it. Then install it and the freaking rooster tail is the wrong one and cant run the backup lights. Never will deal with them again. A 1400 lesson there.

fed-x......when it absolutely positively has to be lost and tracked down 4 or 5 days after you were supposed to get it ..... And Ive NEVER gotten anything from summit or jegs. I have a good speed shop by me and napa. I have never needed any thing they sell. I can get whatever from some where else. It all starts with add to cart.

I ordered a Champion Radiator from Jegs. They sent me what was obviously a unit that someone else had returned. (Apparently, they don't put "scratch and dent" returns on a "scratch and dent shelf" like Summit Racing does. Obviously Jegs just sends damaged items out to the next guy who orders that item). Someone tried to polish the radiator. Half of the top tank was polished to a mirror like finish, the other half looked like it was cleaned with steel wool. There was polishing compound build up in the welds too. To top it off, the fins were all smashed in in a few spots. Customer support said to send it back no problem. However, they would not ship me a replacement until they received the old one back. Fast forward to me receiving the replacement. There were holes punched through both sides of the box from shipping and handling. As expected, the fins on both sides were smashed in. This time I asked Jegs to overnight me a new one on account of this being the SECOND damaged unit that I had received. No good, the item is out of stock until the end of May. So then, I proceeded to Fed Ex to ship this second one back. Fed Ex told me that they cannot accept the package because of the damage to the box. After I pointed out that they were the ones who damaged the box and that the item inside was already damaged on account of their inability to get it from there to here without f#cking it up, the woman said that she would tape the box up for me, "this time". She had to add in a smart *** tone that they will not take damaged boxes from me in the future. I responded that maybe Fex Ex should figure out how to handle packages without damaging them in the future. She just rolled her eyes....

Lesson learned: I am sticking with Summit Racing and UPS whenever possible as I have ALWAYS gotten excellent service from both.

I only buy from Summit now and previously was 100% a Jegs guy. I have had UPS fail me as of late and called Summit and requested that they never ship thru the UPS to me anymore, they added a note to my account to only ship Fed Ex. She did say that she can't guarantee it would always make it on a Fed Ex truck, I told her if that was the case to delay shipping by a day to ensure it went Fed Ex.

On the other hand, Fed Ex has trashed two bikes in the last month that I have ordered from Schwinn for my wife. Number three has been ordered.
