Silver '68 Hemi Charger on BaT

I would drive it like I stole it.

Column shifts are for guys that have girls that want to sit next to them. Hold a shifter or hold a knee, let me think!

I’ll bang the gears. It’s the sound more than anything for me. A clutch car just sounds better to these ears.

The column shift automatic probably kept the price down. I think a Gen 3 with a 6 speed would get more $’s.

I have two 68 Charger R/T,s; one with a stripe and one without & I think the stripe makes it. Your 69 has no stripe, but has the emblems. 68 didn’t have that and to me the tail end looks bare without the stripe.
I bought the charger and actually it is a stripe delete car, when guy had it restored he wanted the stripe, idk if gonna keep it on

beautiful combo.......

but all those pics, pics of decals, but none of the body stampings?

and the rear bumper's kinda saggy on the driver side ......5 minute fix.... come on, man
Yeah when I purchased car seller said he couldn’t find any body stampings, I instantly found the stamp in trunk under the weatherstripping, the one on radiator support was under the decal

My 383 4 door ‘68 Satellite daily driver has the granny shifter... in fact most of the Mopars I’ve owned had that. My ‘70 V code Charger has the console Pistol Grip shifter. Ironically, of the 650 or so Six Pack Chargers made, there is an almost even split between D21 and D32. Most likely because if you were ordering the Six Pack you were more apt to be a gear head. From looking at ‘68-‘70 Chargers over the years... I’m guessing only about 10% were 4 pedal cars.
337 automatic V code 70 Charger R/Ts built 349 with a 4 speed.My car is one of the automatic cars,but since the original auto trans is long gone,the Hemi 4 speed trans and Dana 60 were added.

Congratulations! Looks to be a very nice car.

I'm wondering how much more it would've sold for if it had the numbers matching engine in it.
I was a bit surprised it sold for 130k. Would have expected it to go for more money.
Even more worried now about blowing up the original 440 in my 69.

That’s a great looking car - enjoy. I almost bought a black 68 Charger Hemi off a dealer in 1971. When I went back to talk dollars I found some jackass had jumped in it when another jackass had left the keys in it. First jackass was doing donuts in the lot and they sent a mechanic out with a wrench to break the side window out and haul the jackass’s *** out of it. When I arrived the thread on the drivers front tire was hanging off of it and there was broken glass all over the inside of it. I decided it was bad karma and I better walk away but I’ve since come to greatly regret that decision. A 68 Charger Hemi - doesn’t get much better than that. :thumbsup:

I do like that color combo Silver & Black Baby
& it's got a Hemi

congrats
enjoy the car

I'm not a bench seat guy
but;
I have a bench-seat column shift car myself
(#'s 68 RM23 RR, bench & column shift TF727, the only way you could get that
Auto-Trans. combo, all 68 RRs had benches regardless of trans, no buckets or consoles
)
I did do Pro-Car/Scat Elite 1100 buckets, like 14-15 years ago much, much better to drive,
& it actually helps holds me in place way better, on the winding/curvey roads up here...

An FBBO member drove up from the south bay area (IIRC ?)
& bought (for the rock bottom price of $250) the near-perfect
Decore Package Black Split Bench, with adjusters rails seatbelt brackets etc.
for his own project, he needed a bench, win win...

I build & drive my cars 'for me',
not the masses

Wow! What a car! I’d say you got a smokin’ deal! :thumbsup:

I like it. The blue interior with silver is different and it looks awesome together. I would love to own it.
