Hey all, This is David again. The car for this swap is a 1973 Charger i got for $500. It currently has a 318 2bbl. What I have to put in is a 360 motor with an aftermarket 4bbl carburetor. What will I need to change? Will the bellhousing bolt right up considering they're both small blocks? What about motor mounts? I've heard the 360's take special mounts. The 360 is a 1977 motor, pulled from a dodge camper. I have also heard that I'll have to change my flywheel and flexplates, along with vibration damper. The car is a 904 auto car.

What you have heard is correct. Drivers side motor mount is different. 318 is internal balanced engine, 360 is external, that being said torque converter can be rebalanced.

Or you can buy a B&M flex plate to solve the balance problem

My advice would be not to do the swap. You're going to spend money doing a swap that won't net you much in the way of horsepower. You're only going to be picking up an extra 20-30 horsepower and you could do that by keeping the 318 and adding an aftermarket manifold and a 4-bbl carb. You could also add headers and do even better.

If you're going to stay with a small block, keep your eyes open for a good 340. That will get you more bang for the buck.
