Sometimes I work on a Chevy.

A Chrysler Gear Reduction Starter puts out more torque than a stock Chevrolet Small Block.

Just two comments I've heard at multi make events. Hemi didn't do anything but make noise, small block Chevy out ran them every time in the quarter. Guy had a chain for a motor mount on right side in a 454 chevelle, said came from. The factory this way because it made so much power it would instantly break the mounts.

pretty sure the only gm motor to ever get solid motor mount brackets was the buick 455-s.
they would twist the reg style mounts to bits and it was the torque, not the power.
another easy way to tell chevy guys is they talk a lot about hp and have no clue that torque is what gets you off the line.

chevy guys are one thing...corvette guys are in a whole nother realm....
one time i went to pickup my car in town and they were having a chevy corvette car show in the same lot.
literally, they had parked all around my car,and were making comments about the Titanic as i walked up.
this was a 70 2 door chrysler 300,loaded,console buckets everything.
very sharp car.
so i did what any real mopar guy woulda done.
i fired it up,backed out and then did a burnout smokeshow around the entire car show,
headed for the exit and then hauled *** back to base .
they tried catching me,but,440 versus chevy,they lost.:steering:
First job in body shop after high school was in a corvette shop. Mostly Chevy. I was young and thought wow theses things are great, many drives in small and big block camaro and corvettes back then, never lived up to hype to me. Even drove a magnum p.i. Ferrari back then, also wasn't impressed.

Ironically one of the quickest cars in the nineties i drove back to a dealer was a thunderbird supercoupe i think, it was really quick, without the turbo lag of the day.

I've worked on all of them over the years. It helps fund my Mopar habit.
I'm just getting ready to start on a '67 Corvette that has been sitting for 11 years. It was left to a local lady by her late father. Going through the brakes, fuel system (tank, lines, pump & carb), all fluids tune up, etc.

these days, I find the little **** boxes with their incredible 85 lbs of tree ripping torque and sweet sounding 4 cylinder open exhaust much more annoying. at least I can get into the secondaries to smoke a chevy

Nice story! I have an uncle who has been a die-hard Chevy guy his whole life. Both his daughters drove '70 Chevelles throughout high school. He took a stab at the corvette crowd a few years ago. Then last year he sold that shitty looking corvette and bought....a Challenger!!! Hell yeah!!!! His '55 is here to stay, though.
