My wife bought me an SOA t-shirt for Fathers-day. She has been hounding me for months why I dont wear it.
I've been riding for 25+ years. I have friends from local Harley riding clubs, and 1% clubs. I have never worn a patch. I associate freely between all my riding brothers.
Today she confronted me on why I never wear it. I told her that it looks like a "poser-wanna-be" item that no real biker would ever wear. And that if I wore that around my circle of friends, I would get no end of ****. She said it would be no different than wearing a "Breaking Bad" t-shirt. She doesn't understand the culture. I would never wear a fake "color" from an imaginary television show! She see's nothing wrong in it.
Am I the only riding Mopar brother that feels this way?

Same here, I don't ride but the whole family likes the show. My Daughter got me a couple SOA shirts a couple years ago. She always asks me about wearing them, or at least she did until she saw me washing the old truck with one!

I identify with you 100%. I have been riding V twin Harleys for 43 years. First time I saw SOA I thought" what a load of crap!!" But after watching a couple episodes, I realized it had to be over the top to keep people interested, good writers, and good actors. I enjoy it now like a good soap opera. You and I know there is no Gemma's in ANY 1% clubs!! I wouldn't wear one of their T shirts, nor do I wear Harley T shirts. I am disgusted with H.O.G. and corporate Harley Davidson. It really was better in the good old days...........................MO

I am with you. I have been riding for 40 years, 35 of them on H-D. Like you I have friends in the riding clubs and the 1%rs. I've never watched the show myself but quite a few of those friends do and swear it's the best show on TV. Might wear one of the shirts around the house and while greasing, but never out in public. I have a fairly large collection of t-shirts and 99.9% are from a shop I have been to or an event I have taken part in.
I agree with cornpatch MO on H.O.G. What a load of crap. In 05 we bought a new Heritage for the wife. Came with a one year HOG membership. Figured I would look into it. I couldn't be a member cause the vin on the frame of my custom built wasn't a Harley vin. The motor and some other major parts were bought new from a H-D dealer, didn't matter. Yep, miss the good old days!

Used to ride years ago. Driving truck and working on the cars takes most of my time now. I do like to watch S.O.A. when I can at home. I've got a Harley Davidson belt buckle that I've had for 25 years that you will NEVER find at a Harley dealer. I've only seen 1 other like it ever. To all the brother's that ride, "keep the wind in your hair and the sun on your back"

I'd wear it!
Because it's a TV show, a great one at that...with Cred (Sonny Barger did cameos on the show)

Wouldn't wear it. You hit the "poser" nail right on the head.
Be glad they didn't make any John Travolta Wild Hogs tee shirts!

Buy her something "Hello Kitty" and see if she wears it! I think it is the same with all the MMA shirts sold today.

I would NOT personally wear anything that promotes what the shows about, or the lifestyle... I watch the show, but it's just BS Entertainment not life...

I'd wear it around the garage when I know I'm gonna get messy. I do the same thing with mopar and other shirts. I've ridden and owned a lot of different bikes over the years. The poser comment is dead on if you wear to an event (loads of crap). I've watched maybe 2 episodes of SOA, and don't care for it. Old pics of Syn-dee my 02

Thanks for the support! The wife tends to go on on subjects for so long that it just wears me down, and I stop arguing. I don't give-in, but I just stop arguing. I think she chalks it up as a WIN, but the long lasting resentment festers. Ever heard the saying of "Won the battle, but lost the war"? That is what shes done, she's won every argument by outlasting someone who HATES arguing. But the resentment will be the end of the marriage. Sorry for going off on a tangent.

Like you, I've been in the wind for 30+ years. It disgusts me when I see shows like SOA distort and falsely depict my way of life. I'm pretty sure wearing a SOA t shirt would get me beat up in my circle of friends.
You just need to thank the wife for the generous gift, but it's just not your flavor. Tell her how sexy she'll look in it if she wears it as a nightshirt. BTW, I ride on up to Cass City quite a bit. I'll roll through Brown City next time and look you up. Have a cold one ready Brother.

As a ret member of an outlaw club I would not be caught dead in one and Yes I would give them hell fo it. Anyone who thinks it would be a good idea- I've got a couple of pounds of rice Iin the cabnet for your wannabe ***. The show it is just as real as Miami mice or conair. Entertaining but complete BS hell I even ran into the superstar ron perlman as a shreveport casino. you would think he could at least afford Vegas. The whole dam mess makes as much sense as running around town and to work in your freakin beemer, yota, laxi tellin folks what cool MOPAR you have at home. Be AMERICAN, Drive AMERICAN Support AMERICA or GTFO
