Hi guys, I've heard about people using a sound deadener from Lowe's, is it this stuff...?

Does this have small air pockets like bubble wrap? IMO it's ok for firewall and places you don't have your feet on, floors or where you might work, ng. If it's on floors where your feet will pop the bubbles what good is it? Stuff like Boom Mat is to help stop sheet metal vibration. Shake a piece or sheet metal, it's noisy.

They look like air bubbles but they aren't its more of a honeycomb type construction...not sure if I would use it either, but I've seen some members used 'something' they got at Lowe's or homers depot..wondered if that was the stuff

Peel n seal. Or something like that. Used it for car audio installations on large builds. A lot cheaper than dinomat. Does about the same thing.

No that has the big air pockets. What you need is the product that uses micro-pockets. However even then the product is best used under the head liner. For that as long as it is trimmed a little long it will install nest to the metal roof without any glue. I have also used it under the carpet locating it above the exhaust.

edit: Sorry, forgot were talking about sound not heat. Research sound damping and different results will come up, mostly minimalist works better then full coverage. Also people have good results from Lizard Skin on the underside, sprayed on bottom of car.
