Rattling noise troubleshooting

I’m thinking to just remove it, and see if it goes away. Looks like it doesn’t need a spacer, just remove the guts and try it.

Sometimes a noise like this might only happen under engine/transmission load, even if it's not engine related.
I chased a rattle for years that would get louder with more throttle, but not in neutral. I finally found it while sliding out from under the car when I pulled sideways on the rear part of the exhaust. One of the metal tab exhaust standoff welds had broken. I could not see the break, but when I grabbed the exhaust and moved it side to side the metal weld break was very evident.

okay, I have shook the exhaust and didn’t notice anything. I did find a loose bolt where exhaust connects to the header.. the sound is better but still there.. I’m thinking it’s the heat riser.

So I am having trouble diagnosing a sound my car is making while accelerating, it’s a metal rattling sound that happens when there’s more vibration from pushing on the gas.. 1st thought was loose exhaust clamp or heat shield but everything seems tight.. Speedo makes some noise but that’s a different sound. This noise is louder and comes and goes, usually after driven for a while. Any help appreciated. Can’t attach a video..

Probably loose flex plate bolts or a cracked flex plate.

okay, I have shook the exhaust and didn’t notice anything. I did find a loose bolt where exhaust connects to the header.. the sound is better but still there.. I’m thinking it’s the heat riser.

Try just wiring it fully open.
If that cures the noise then you can cut out the heat riser and tap for a 3/8" thread get 2good quality bolts and thread them in until they get tight on the shoulder. Then cut both ends off and voila no heat riser and no leaks.

Header? Do you mean exhaust manifold?

Header? Do you mean exhaust manifold?oops. Yes, that’s what I meant.. it’s a battle trying to reply on here with a baby and toddler needing my every second attention lol.

UPDATE: I think it is the heat riser valve making the noise, along with the speedo cable making its own noise separately. The place I bought it from is actually going to pick it up and trailer it back to their shop and correct the issues. I appreciate everyone’s help with troubleshooting this with me! Thank you.

how to test if this is the issue?

Wire it to something else on the engine or maybe a rubber tarp strap to hold it still?
The holes in the manifold can be tapped for pipe plugs to seal.

I had a baffle in the muffler come lose when cold it rattles a bit when hot it goes away. I put a c clamp on it and crushed it a little it worked I know its butchery but its a daily driver. Chinese JUNK
