I ma working on a new to me 440 coronet and I need some information. The car has a miss and I am working thru the simple issues first, I Am gonna go buy a set of plugs just to have them on hand and don’t know what I need to get.The engine is a bored out 440 with( I was told) flat top pistons and a purple shaft cam. The heads are cast original heads . Any suggestions on what plugs I need to get with this limited info? Thanks in advance

First buy a factory service manual. Will be extremely helpful. With mostly stock setup any advance or AutoZone can tell you what to get.

Thanks for replying. I didn’t know what temp range or possibly different reach plug I might need since the engine had been modified

What condition are the plugs in that you are currently using? Are they consistent? some oil fouled? What type of ignition?

Thanks for everybodies replys. I haven’t gotten to the shop to pull the plugs yet so I cannot answer any condition questions but it is an electronic ignition. I am hoping to get to the car maybe sun or Mon and pull the plugs ( supposedly new ) but don’t know yet if they are even what needs to be in the car. The next couple of days will tell the tale

NGKs, 5 heat range. If you want it to misfire, use plugs that are too cold...
