Does anyone know what size speakers will fit in the rear of the car...6"x9", 5"x7"...? I want to add 2 speakers to the rear.
Thanks

Mine has the rear speaker cutouts going in opposite directions, I think for a rear defroster. One hole is 6x9 and the other is a 5x7. I drilled some extra holes in the smaller cutout and installed 2- 6x9's. On the front I modified the stock 4X10 frame and put in 2- 4 inch rounds. It really sounds nice.

On my 68 RR one hole is 6x9 and the other is 5x7 and the holes are not in the same orientation. The reason is the 6x9 side is for the rear window defogger and the 5x7 was for the speaker.

Meep-Meep-Did the rear defroster blow through the oval hole or the long narrow slot running parallel with the glass? You have the same layout as me.

Through the long narrow one. There is a vent bezel that goes in there

Yes, the long narrow slot in the back is for the defrost outlet.

Some late model Chryslers (like Cordobas) have a very similar rear window defrost arrangement as the older cars, but the fan assy is offset to accommodate the use of a 6x9 speaker - rather than dedicating the hole to just air intake like the older cars. Go check your pick n pull!

That's how I thought it worked.
