Good Morning. I have to replace the Pitstop Gas Cap on my 1967 Plymouth GTX. However, I noticed that the 3 screws that were used on the old one weren't the original from the factory. Can anyone tell me where I can find these? Also, can you send a picture of what they look like?

Just FYI- the same screws were used to mount the radio in 80's cars like 5th Ave.

I just put "safety torx" on mine, much more common and already had the bit.

...and the odds of someone at a car show A- having a safety torx bit and B- taking the time to undo all three of them without getting caught...

Also might trip up a potential thief that knows what the correct screws are and carries that bit.

...still a more secure gas cap that the non-pit stop versions.

BTW- I've never heard them called that before, but I'll be using that term from now on.

I've always heard "NASCAR" cap.

Thanks for your reply. I saw the safety Torx and probably what I should do. I was really looking for what the factory used. And yes, that term, “Pitstop Gas Cap goes way back to the late 60’s. Anyone that knows this car from back in the day will know what you are talking about.

Are you talking about these?

I was really looking for the same screws that the factory used. The safety Torx are probably the way to go and will most likely purchase them for large shows. But I want total originality. I guess for my own head more than anything.
