Helping a friend with his 1968 Hemi Road Runner speedo cable. What is the correct length of a original cable. What kind of end did the original have at the 4 speed attachment, was it a round nut or a hex nut

OE speedo cable is 63 1/2" long.
Small nylon hook @dash speedo-head end, @transmssion side round outer nut...
