Hey guys...

Just digging into the front suspension on my 73 satellite/rr clone. I picked up some new spindles, which I blasted today to get clean...I covered up the spindle face, but I failed to cover the smooth surfaces on the arms and back of the spindles (see photos)...

My question is, are these surfaces polished/smooth from the factory? Or are they a protect of wear over time? What I need to know is whether I need to re-smooth them before installing them.

they will be fine the most critical part is were the seal runs..be sure not to blast that.....and I put a little tape or alum.foil in the holes for the ball joints

Thanks! Are you saying to put tape/foil in the holes for the ball joints before I blast, or as a way to make them slicker when I install them?

I'm sure he meant before blasting to keep grit from building up.
