Funny thing was, as much as we wince about the sacrilege of pinning this name on an import, these were not bad cars.

This Plymouth had a cool NASCAR vibe.

Reminded me of the car I brought home a couple weeks back, the Gold Ruster.

Hey, Joe!
That was a nice car. It may seem odd to notice obscure details but the white Superbird had the nicest closing drivers door! I like learning new things too. Joe told me how the Superbirds all came with fixed engine fans, no clutch fans. I told him that I heard that there were other things that Superbirds couldn't be equipped with but I struggled to remember. Later I recalled that it was paint colors. They limited the colors to make it easier for the final "Superbird specific" parts, the hood, nose cone, rear window pieces and wing. I started remembering how I see Orange, White, Sublime, B-5 Blue and Yellow. Maybe others?
A Mopar Action magazine article told of a 1 of 1 FK5 Burnt Orange metallic model that was built by accident. This color was not supposed to be, It was not on the approved list. The author thought that the person that ordered the car may have intended to write FJ5 which was the Sublime/Lime Light.

I love these Firebirds. Beautiful and great performance.

Funny story about this Plymouth…

“Sadie “ belongs to Diane, a really nice lady that helps out the CPW club. 1969 Sport Satellite.

About 15 years ago, maybe more, I saw the car at the San Joaquin valley Mopars show and…. Thinking I knew everything… I said “ Oh, you put GTX taillights in the car”.
She said No, they also came in Sport Satellites. I disagreed.
Later I found that I was wrong and apologized to her the next time I saw her.
Diane is super nice and she gave me a ride between pit stops one year during a portion of the cruise. I have a Sport Satellite also, so we were talking details and info. Pretty clean car and she knows a lot about it. Love that shade of blue also.

No, I drove the truck in the hopes that I’d find some scores in the swap meet. I did not.
The swap had a lot of sellers but nothing that I needed. This is No fault of the club or show goers but I was disappointed to not find a single thing on my short list.

We had an absolute blast on fridays run. Lots of cars. We stopped to help the A12 that lost his shift lever. While getting on the freeway. The young lady in the blue satty stopped and pulled out a boxy of mystery bolts. He found 3 that looked like they might work. He sent us on our way. Nice drive and good spacing. Lunch at dukes is always a plus.

What were you hoping to find?

Carpet for the '72 Duster. Some vendors bring kits....THe black, automatic A body carpet kit is the most common and buying at a show saves on shipping.
Rear seat for the '72 Duster. I have some but hoped someone might have an ulpholstered black one.

Grille for the '70 Charger. Last Spring there were two that were restorable but I drove my car there. I couldn't risk $950 breaking on the way home making it far worse to fix.
Ash tray for the Charger. Rear upper pads too.

This was my second time at this event, but first to bring a car. The Malibu cruise on Friday was really a great time. Dinner at the Stonefire Grill on saturday was great too, I wish that establishment would open some locations in Phoenix. I sold about $400 worth of my junk, and thankfully did not take home anyone else'es junk this time.

Big thumbs up to the show sponsors. Great job.

Little late but did you see Ed from "The Mopar Shop" there? He probably had your carpet kit at home & since you would drive past his place on the way home it might have been worth a detour...

I might have your ashtray, if I do it'll be in my storage unit... I'll be stopping by there tomorrow, I'll look...

My Son saw his sister car today!!!

We also got some great deals on just a few of the items he needed! Loved the winged section of the show!
