:headbang:it took all day but all the stainless is polished. I used a 3" air buffer and it came out great. now I have to sort thru the pot metal to see what go's to be re chromed 001.jpg002.jpg003.jpg004.jpg005.jpg006.jpg:hello2:

I use my rotary buffing wheel. It is a time consuming PITA, but well worth the results. My only fear is if the wheel catches and grabs the piece and knocks it around. I had that happen with a headlight trim ring, and besides hurting my hand, it really bent up the trim ring. Yes, I try to be sure I buff in a manner that does not grab the piece, but sometimes the shape of the piece makes that hard to do.

Looks like you had great results! It is nice to bolt on a piece of trim after it has been polished nicely!

Just remember the pot metal pieces are chromed or anodized and you can only do so much with that. Also the grille for example is bright dipped or anodized, and can only be polished so much. The best way is to strip that off, fix any boo boo's, sand then polish.

Grille

Hey that Grille in the trunk is for a C body do you have the satellite Grille?.

I 005.jpguse a 3" air buffer that I can control my rpms. it's a lot safer then using a 6" bench buffer. I used auto rubbing compound to polish and a scotch bright pad on heavy spots.

hi all the pot metal pieces are ready to ship to the chrome shop. tail lights, letters, emblems etc. I have a chrome shop in Canada that I've used for 35+ yrs.

that's the grille that came with the car it was never off. I do hav an other grille with another emblem. I believe the emblem is for a belvedere

It's all worth it when it goes back together. Some of my pieces were dented. Had to start with a hammer, pic, file, and 80 grit.

hi for removing dings and dents I use different size wood dowels on end or for round areas I use the side of the dowel cheep at the hardware store with a soft hammer
