So my starter began dragging on me yesterday. Today I went and got a new with my old one to trade in. The 2 starters were Vastly different. But they assured me that it would fit. It didn't, the case hit the side of the block and wouldn't allow the nose to line up in the bell housing. Returned it went down the street to an old parts store and this is what he gave me.
I haven't seen a starter rebuild kit in years. He has a limited supply and if some of you folks want one I will start a for sale thread. Not trying to make a buck but share the discovery.
