Well I started striping my Roadrunner today. I bought a Phoenix Graphics complete kit. I was going to pay someone to do it but I decided to try the hood myself to see how difficult it is. It was extreemely difficult for me.

The kit seems to be very high quality (Thank Goodness). Some of the front side paper peeled off onto the stripe kit. Had to soak it and rub it off with my fingernail. I had a really hard time pulling the stripe off the paper. I ended up just peeling it and then laying the kit by eye (Free hand). It came out good but took me around and hour and a half to do just the hood kit. I think I'm going to hire someone to do the body and roof sections.

This is the rescued Roadrunner I bought in Nevada last October. Troy

The trick is (assuming you used water with a couple of drops of dishwashing liquid in it) to squeegee it all out after laying the stripe, then give it time to DRY before pulling the paper.

I did this by myself no prob. That is a stripe on the hood...not paint

Stripes

I read on the subject alot before I attempted this. The hood portion is actually 11 seperate pieces, not counting the engine numerals. You have to match the lines perfect between each section. Its not like it is one big section. It was really hard for me. I used 1 tsp of dawn to 1 gallon. I bought some nice squeeges as well. I tried to do it as described. Maybe my stripe kit sat too long or something. In any case, it is obviously above my skill level. Anyone near Reno wanna make a few bucks???? Troy
