I have what I believe is a power steering fluid pump leak around the outside ring gasket area of the front face of my pump. I’ll probably just get a remanufactured. I used idemitsu fluid to fill have not run under power with car running. Do you think this fluid caused it? Pump is original and been sitting. So may have been faulty before. I’ll attach the fluid data sheet.

I doubt the fluid caused a leak.. however, I wouldn't use the Honda/Acura specific fluid. Take the can off and replace the big oring.pay attention to the surface the ring seals to. Fill with Dex II/III , ATF+4. Or ugh, the chevy PSF.

THose o rings shrink and fail after 5 decades. Just Change the o ring. These pumps last a long time if they are kept full of fluid.

I'd much rather us a good original than a rebuilt one.

Year and make of the car?

Pump rebuilder suggested I use automatic transmission fluid in my 1964 Dodge TRW pump, because this is what the pump was designed for. 1964 FSM says to use auto trans fluid, as well.
