Stellantis Brings The HEMI Back !!

That stupid article mentioned Durangos and then I started looking at them and was like, damn I should get this nice used one. Reading is dangerous!

I was always surprised that Ram did not bring out a High Performance pick-up with a HellCat option. But now that they $hit-canned the Classic series, they no longer produce a single cab truck.
They did the TRX 4x4 702hp 35" tires & quick as hell for a 4wd truck
short-bed crew cab, 0-60 is fast as hell for a 6k # truck
beat most cars on the road & can go in the snow & rocks/hills offroad, like crazy
jumps great too,
The Raptor Killer, when it 1st came out...

So much for all the so called experts on the RAM forum who said the 5.7 couldn’t be brought back because the tooling for it (5.7) was all destroyed and the production line turned over to the Hurricane.
Yes, I was told this by folks who have no clue where I work. Lol. I told them not to believe everything they read or hear. We are still getting replacement Hemis of all sizes and apps, they gotta come from somewhere. When kiniskis(sp) came back, I figured this was coming sooner than later. We need him to take Dodge under his wing too.

So are there still factory 5.7's still floating around?? Would I have a chance to get one in my new Ram come November when my lease is up?

If not, Ill just get a 2500 til the 5.7 in a 1500 is available again and be a poser. LOL

Since Mopar Performance still advertises complete new Hemi crate engines, it does seem like they're still around.

If they are in 1500s again, yes it would probably be fall, 26 model year. Here's the issue, the 6 cyl turbo is managed by a bosch ecm, and the hemi uses our gpec variant, 2 completely different operating systems with different wiring. So that's the first hurdle, as they all communicate with all the other modules in the vehicle. Then, it has to be tested to prove to the feds that it passes emmissions and then to CA to pass their nazi stds. Once all that is done, it can make it to market. I'm sure there's more to it, but that's all I'm aware of. We are busy trying to fix issues that the previous leader caused, but we are making headway.

The news is part of what’s been a busy week for Ram, which announced Thursday that the classic 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 would return to its production lineup. Kuniskis acknowledged the company had erred in dropping the Hemi powerplant — “Ram screwed up when we dropped the Hemi. We own it and we fixed it,” he said — and that customer feedback was key to bringing it back. The engine returns with a new “Symbol of Protest” badge — a ram’s head emerging from a V-8 block — to the revived branding, and the company’s NASCAR return is the next phase of its focus on automotive muscle.

Kuniskis said Ram would ideally have at least four trucks on the grid for next year’s season opener at Daytona International Speedway. But he added that he’s in need of one or more team partnerships to bring those efforts to life.

“We’re looking for a date to the prom right now,” Kuniskis said. “So how am I going to get to Cup? That’s going to depend on how I get to Truck. So however we get to Truck is going to obviously weigh heavily on ‘do I have a path to Cup?’ Our intention is not to do a one-hit wonder and go to Truck and not to Cup. That’s not our plan.”

My neighbour bought a 2025 Ram with the Hurricaine 6 in it. He says it is scary powerful, and gets great fuel mileage. I asked him to open the hood, and there was not much there that I could identify as an engine. It looked like something that Seven of Nine and the Borg would build.

RAM sales nose dived last year and this year looks like another ship wreck so far. The dual hair drier 6 seems to be holding together mechanically so far over on the RAM forum, but the 24/25 trucks are having a lot of electrical harness and software issues. The Hemi coming back could lead to a resurgence of sales but they need to do something about their reliability as right now to many of them are shutting down, virtually on the initial trip home from the dealer. Nobody is too happy that RAM in this Hemi reintroduction hasn’t reportedly done anything to address some of the known design issues in the Gen 3 Hemi either, particularly with cam and lifter oiling. However, the one thing that seems to be propping RAM up at the moment is the lack of better alternatives.

Rumor in NASCAR is Garret Mitchell aka "Cleetus McFarland" from YouTube will drive one of the trucks next year.

yeah but , its too heavy in my books , ford and chevy`s are a lot liter , hence quicker ??

Oh, the irony....

If they still made and sold trucks like this, I would seriously consider getting one.
Note how it is a regular cab, short bed without looking super thick and tall like they all look nowadays...

The second truck looks absolutely stupid to me. It looks like it measures four feet between the air dam and top of the hood. That is dumb as ****. Compare that to my 2007 model....

Even my truck looks tall compared to the classics....

Given this stupid trend of making the front ends more and more blunt faced and tall, how much worse can they get?
This looks great:

Sadly, the public will keep buying the ugly trucks because that is what they are selling. The manufacturers see no incentive to change their crappy styling trends if people are still buying. Yeah, the cancellation of the Hemi chased off buyers but by some accounts, today's buyers aren't so concerned with styling or even colors. If they were, you wouldn't see so many new cars in white, silver or black.

There's a lot of Rams over here, very popular. I saw one recently at a garage being serviced - the fenders were so high off the ground I wondered how they would access the engine bay - a small stepladder maybe?

A truck is useless if you have to have a step stool to get into the bed. The look of that cheap cheese grater look grill and filler panels looks ricer .. Look at the new Chevy how much uglier can you get ? Holy Great Wall of plastic cheese greater grille.

I always thought this era truck was good looking.

All of the trucks today are just too big in the grille.
I didn't start buying them till 97 and again in 98, extended cabs. I got rid of the 97 to get 98, first year opening clamshell doors. They were great, except transmission problems. I never kept one long enough to have a problem with the trans, but they had problems. Both were 360's, white, 4X4's. The 360 was weak, but reliable.
