Sticking trunk weatherstrip

Since I replaced the trunk weatherstrip on my '72 SSP project car, opening the trunk has become a challenge. The weatherstrip wants to glue itself to the trunk lid.

Too much adhesive maybe, or closed lid too soon ?

Try a little talcum powder on it.

or a little wax on the lid in the area where it sticks
