Has this ever happened to you: Unfortunately I haven't driven or done anything with my Satellite this summer. I have been acquiring parts for the engine rebuild however. Anyway, I decided to go where it is stored and take it for a ride. It started up after a few tries, but when I put it in reverse it wouldn't move. It acted like the parking brake was still on. After a few tries with it in reverse, there was a loud noise and whatever it was that was keeping it from moving, wasn't any longer. I'm guessing that the brakes (or one wheel) was stuck. Should I not store it with the parking brake on?

not unless you need to.rust can build up a bit in humid climates and cause the cables to stick.if it dose it again try applying and releasing it a few times.might be a good idea to pull off you drums and make sure nothing broke inside.check your cable as well.

I have seen shoes stuck to drums from sitting so long with the brakes applied that I had to hammer the drums off, destroying everything in the process. Leave the e brake off. Chock the wheels if rolling away is a concern.

See if you can turn the adjuster so the shoes compress. If they do not the spring for the adjuster broke and now the shoes are stuck open. I had that happen to my challenger. I was lucky that I was able to hit the drum with a hammer and wiggle the drum off and see the broken spring.
