sucking 73 charger bumpers up to body like 71/72

[Texas charger 73]

I am looking to suck my bumpers up close to body on my 73 charger so I can do away with the rubber crash isolators. I know rear can be done with 71/72 brackets,but heard front has to be notched because of different k members in 73. Who has done this and has best info so I can do correctly.

search on 3rd gean board... there is a thread there about a work done, including a small mod on end of frame rail to make it even smoother

Basically need to slot the front frame rail bumper brackets ( Y ones ) and some other bracket, that's all

I did mine on my 74. I slotted the fronts and used the 71-72 rears. one thing to look out for is the fit of the front grills around the headlights if you are using the 73-74 grills as you are moving the grills back with the bumper. I used 71 grills on mine.

yeap... the headlight fillers COULD NEED to be trimmed, since they are usually shrinked due the heat
