I have also seen clones for as much money as the real thing....The prices of 68-70 Road Runners and Super Bee's seem to be getting crazy. I have seen 383 drivers from $30k - $50k . Mine is a 383 with the numbers motor in it. Restored in 1994. Still a nice car but a driver. I have it insured for 36k. Thinking maybe I should bump up the insurance.

It was my Dad's car and he passed away 3 years ago...so no on 36K. But I saw alot of drivers for $30-$36k 3 years ago so that is why I had $36 k on it.Now I am seeing cars that are nice drivers or incorrect parts and paint on them for $40-$50k.Will you take 36K cash for it today?
I'm thinking along the same lines. I bought my '69 GTX 3 years ago for $21k. Non numbers matching, but period correct 440 4-speed. I insured for $25k believing I got a decent deal. But that was 3 years ago. And we've all seen what has happened in 3 years? My premium is due next month. I believe I'm at least going to bump up to $30k? (Which I believe is a more than fair sale price?)The prices of 68-70 Road Runners and Super Bee's seem to be getting crazy. I have seen 383 drivers from $30k - $50k . Very interested in any information you discover. Thank you.Small world as my Hagerty bill is due on Wednesday
Talked to Hagerty at the Iola Old Car Show , but they said nothing would bee any different then what is done online
Asked about adding $10,000 to the value on my #s Matching 71 Superbee
Do they usually require another Appraisal ? She couldn’t confirm for sure
I haven’t changed my policy in over ten years I think - Customer for fifteen years
Anyways I would expect to hear something tomorrow thru phone or email

Assuming both your Bee and my GTX were in same very nice driver quality conditions? Would you trade? Is numbers matching higher value than the performance difference? I had a '69 RoadRunner 383 automatic. At the same time as my 440 4-speed. A big difference in driver performance experience. So I sold RoadRunner. (Which now I wish I kept. Could have got a lot more today. Lol.)
No appraisal needed I added the extra insurance on line.It is agreed value.Small world as my Hagerty bill is due on Wednesday

I wouldn't pay $45k because of the non numbers matching part. (But I've been wrong before.) Definitely going to nose around their site. $30k may be too low.I would put about $45k insurance on the GTX
Exactly the way i think!I don’t think of what’s my car worth, rather what would it take to replace it. My agreed value insurance is probably higher than what I could get for it.
Numbers matching isn't as important as it was 15-20 years ago...alot of the younger generation doesn't care about numbers.I wouldn't pay $45k because of the non numbers matching part. (But I've been wrong before.) Definitely going to nose around their site. $30k may be too low.
I'm sticker shocked when I own. As a buyer? There would be some serious sadness. Real-estate is even worse these days?
