Swapping drum backing plates

Agree. With brakes bigger is better. I have disc's and 11" drums on my 65. I think it's money why he doesn't put 11" drums on rear? Drums aren't big money but if you have only so much to spend it is.

Agreed. All the stuff is available to convert relatively inexpensive. But if that's all ya got, use it, won't hurt anything.

Didn't like the guy beating on axle flange. Put the ball end of a ball peen hammer in the center of axle then hit the hammer.

Thanks guys, funny I found that video last night. Luckily my axles slid right back in lol wasn't about to pound on them. I'm going to give these a try at least get it rolling again so I can take it to get a driveshaft. Always go 11" or disc if I feel it needs it.

I have a 68 GTX drive shaft, 4 speed dana car to get rid of 7290 u-joints it's 50 1/2 to 50 5/8" c to c on u-joints. If interest let me know.

Well I listened to everyone's advice after putting on the 10" backing plates I decided to purchase 11" set up. I originally only saw them on year one or some site like that for a few hundred bucks for the drums. I asked the guy at autozone while I was getting oil and they sold finned 11" drums for around 50 bucks each.
