I found a 8 3/4 housing at Indy swap meet and it's about 1 1/2" too long. The perches are dead on for my Satellite at 47". Do you think I can get by with a little longer or should I have it narrowed? I don't think tire clearance will be a problem. Probably get work done at Mosers since I'm only an hour away from them.

How much too long? I guess it was from a wagon then? as it's suppose to be 57 7/8" tube end to tube end... is that what it measures out too?

Hey if you have a place like that near by why not get it done. And if they are going to narrow it you may as well have new ends put on, so you don't have scored channels for the axle bearings.

yeah it measures 59 and change so I'm thinking it must be from a wagon

If you are going to green bearings, I would definitely have it narrowed.

That's only an extra .75" on each side... I would try to not have it shortened and save money. Just make sure your current wheel/tire setup has enough clearance on each side. A lot of guys put wider than stock rims on these cars anyway. Just my thinking.
