An example of something that in modern American society would be considered racially inappropriate in a movie is the name of the jet plane "Tar Baby 2." This is a reference from Uncle Remus which contains racial stereotypes.

Ban the movie?

My godfather had these made and put them on his fleet of blacktop hauling dumptrucks back in the day. I kept these two.

When I was very young, my mom liked toy poodles and we had a litter of puppies.
The daddy's name was "Tar Baby". We kids had no idea where that came from, only
that "tar" made sense since the dogs were all jet black.
The things you learn later in life.....

Tar is black. You should be able to say that about your dog just as much as anything else. If someone else takes it in a different context I don’t see how that should alter how you describe your dog. Tar is jet black just like your dogs. I mean slimy grease balls are exactly that. They’re slimy and greasy. However someone else may take offense so that if they take it in the wrong context. We can’t tiptoe through life and Try to predict what everyone’s going to think.

We're talking 50+ years ago - and I came to know how my dad named that dog eventually....

My wife had a cat in the 1970s named Sambo. Some of her co-workers in the welfare department were not amused.
