So im back to the drawing boards, I lost my 727 in my earlier posts, I acquired a brand new in the box 727 tci, the thing was it had a reverse valve body in it but he had a brand new in the box forward valve body, swapped out valve body and have all gears but it will not upshift now out of first, now im lost and I have no idea where to start. I did swap out the valve body

Ok so I pulled the pan back off and found some metal shavings, dumb me did not flush the cooler out after my last tranny went out, I learned my lesson, if the park rod was not in all the way could that bind the governor up, I think it was in cause I checked for park numerous amounts of time it was locked in park, what could I check from here

The governor housing is there. But does it have governor seal rings? Does it have governor weights? If it weights are they free, or stuck in the bore? Need to check governor pressure.

Ok got my valve body and everything back in, got a gauge on the governor port, all i can get no matter what rpm or speed is 10 psi, will not go no higher then that

Checked throttle valve pressure, I believe i am hooked up right, idling in gear 20, when I pull valve back it stays at 20

Update, found the problem i hope, governor internals are missing, I am hoping to use the governor internals from my old transmission, what all is involved with this now, how do I go about putting internals in the governor

There are 2 different governor weight diameters. 1.00" and 1.070". So the parts you install must fit the bore of the governor housing. Secondly I'd remove the snap ring on the output shaft that retains the governor housing. Slide the park gear/governor assembly rearward. The governor sealing rings located just in front of the park gear may be missing. To swap governor weights remove the E clip from either end of the governor weight rod. Remove the small weight and rod. on the other side of the housingremove the snap ring retaining the larger weight. reinstall the in the same order.

Ok, I think I got it, the governor sealing rings are located just in front of the park gear, so after I remove the snap ring the governor and park gear will slide forward and then I will see the governor sealing rings, am i able to take the governor assembly off of my old Trans and swap over to this one after I clean it up, also on reassembly how do I get the park rod installed when putting tail housing back on thanks again for everything

Ok, all back together, the governor was missing the governer rings also. I took the old governor out of my old tranny and swapped the whole thing over, I cleaned it all up and put it on, got her topped back off with tranny fluid and she is going in all gears and hopefully shifts now, fingers crossed, no leaks and I was able to use all my old gaskets over
