First time out the drive and on the road since about October last year.
Brakes need more bleeding. Put in a new master cylinder. Have not bleed the back brakes yet, and not much time on the front. But we can stop. 727 gearbox worked as planned. Can shift down to first, and keep it there. Auto shifts fine.
First time for me messing with an auto. Thank you Doug. Quite a bit of valve train noise / ticking. Not sure if it is one, or more than one, or if it will go away. Only adjustment to the 1405 carb is idle, and about half a turn out on the two mixture screws. Got some pinging coming up the hill. Will retard the ignition a bit, but it might be last years 87 gas.
Set the timing by ear. I better find my timing light so I can say where it is.
I cut a larger hole in the bulkhead forward to get better access to the steering box adjustment.
Had to cut a notch out of the drink holder, that sits on top of the engine cover. Some dipstick installed tne starter button a bit low on the dash. Trying to avoid wyres behind the dash.
Always crashing sounds from the back of a camper van. Stuff tends to fall about.
Meanwhile Shirley is buying supplies for a camping trip for next weekend. Such confidence.
