Well We did it. After owning my car for 17yrs and driving it about 20 times over that time I am entering my first car show tomorrow and want to say that I could not of done this without the fine people on this site. There will be about 600 cars there so wish me luck. Never seen another 68 GTX in all my yrs going to this show. I will let you know how I make out.

Other than a 3 thousand mile difference, I am going to a similar Show tomorrow too. It's good to get together with other car people. Mine s a Mopar Show. Gonna be good. I learn more by accident when talking with others. Add the sounds and occasional aroma of Race Gas. Nothing smells better in the morning.

Good Luck with the show - make sure you bring back some pictures!

good luck, Dave!

Ive never seen a 68 GTXer in a car show either...well, except mine. lol

Something about Mopars on green grass is just so appealing to the eye.

Good luck Dave and Dennis.

What a day. Forgot my camera and after following all the cars down the lane to stage for the show the brake pedal goes to the floor and I almost rear end the show car in front of me,panic and slam the car in park while driving. The only reason it stopped is because I had to slam the e-brake down. Drove home using e-brake. THE QUESTION IS WHAT HAPPENED GUYS? Is it my brake booster. No fluid found anywhere. Oh yeah. The judge would not score my car due to 2 small paint flaws. JEEZ! Your help on this please?

I tell that judge to go F himself and fix the flaws if they don't like em! Geeeeeez
That some scary $h!t with no brakes, glad everything is ok.

I will post a new thread on the brakes.

To not score because of 2 paint flaws ! Wow was it full of trailer gueens, I prefer the gently used and driven cars. The ones with a butt print in the drivers seat and the little pieces of rubber hanging from the rear lower quarter are the most interesting.

My thoughts exactly...

Thanks guys. looks like I need a master cylinder. I figured being the only G.T.X there plus never seen one there in 20 plus yrs that I had a chance. If your part of there club I hear it helps. I don't know. Had fun and that's what it is all about.

View attachment 262462 Stuff happens, even at car shows. Like this poor guy. Thank God you did not hit the car ahead and your parking brake worked. The Charger pictured was just a hose. I've had 2 car show episodes, once the cheap chrome thermostat housing crapped, the other was worse with a fan-in-radiator. Could have been worse as it was self-induced and could have been a pole involved. Got lucky. I waited until EVERY car left and had it hauled home.

Well I guess I won something at the car show after all. This plaque came in the mail Sat. Favorite 75 cars picked. I guess thats not bad since there were over 400 cars there.

Congratulations on the award Dave. I'm more, than a little surprised they wouldn't score your car over all. Did that mean every car there had perfect paint. A little had to accomplish that unless they are all trailer queens. At least you won something. Looks like quite the nice ride...

A lot of the local shows here in Vermont are being sparsely attended lately due to the " Top Fifty" award thing. Means almost everyone gets an award. The other thing is that the people who purchase a brand new SRT Challenger and turn around and put it in a show after slapping some stickers or numbers on it are getting the wins. I don't get it. What happened to awarding the trophy to the one who obviously spent years and money to BUILD a car, doing almost every part himself? Since when is having enough credit or cash to buy a high dollar muscle car that is a week old a criteria to win at a car show? We saw one today that was in a show two weeks ago that is a 2015 R/T with NO CHANGES other than some vinyl lettering and numbering in several places( Tacky) and he took three trophies! I will never understand that, never.
