Yeah, don't get too upset. That channel has sucked since it went to it's current format. I only watch it occasionally for Chop Cut and Rebuild. I don't like Nascar. It puts me to sleep. I hate looking at a bunch of guys sitting at a desk yakking about Nascar. So I gave up long ago. Networks don't understand what car people want to see. They think we want the automotive equivalent of all the other crap they have on. I think that's why car channels fail. Velocity seems to have given up the idea of an automotive channel without really trying. I say move down to Florida where there's a cruise night 3 times a week and it only stops when it's too hot or cold. Then you won't have time to watch Speed.

Want some other happy news? The Turner Networks contract is done too. My (YOUR) price for TBS went up over 50% with their new contract. TNT went up about 30%. CNN will go up 66% over the next three years.

Then maybe CNN should just go away, I know it wouldn't hurt my feeling much, too biased, I do watch for a different perspective from time to time thou... I do like Velocity too, but they have a ton of repeats & filler programing, non-car/automotive related programing too, it's just cable, it's the nature of the beast...

all i can say is; clearly the marketing amateurs of Speed Channel had no idea how to maximize their potential and it was truly a huge opportunity for the professional team at Fox to swoop in and capitalize on the untapped market being left on the table due to the lack of penetration in the marketplace which can be realized by structuring a broad brush programming schedule which includes high yield viewership of current... blah blah blah. I can almost hear the BS from a 20something with an MBA making 60K in the boardroom now...

I dont want football and baseball and ufc on my car channel. I want more racing. Guess dish will realize this when I drop them like a hot header bolt.

I heard about that a few days ago.
fox FORKS up everything they touch.
Even a crappy car show is better than thier planned line up of retread stick and ball.
