The psychology of poeple who don’t watch sport ball.

I watched the All Blacks play the US for a game of rugby.
Was not pretty. Much better to watch the All Blacks play England, Ozz, France, Ireland, South Africa or Argentina.
Art Shell most likely did not move 100 yards in his entire carrier. Ignoring concussion issues was not very clever. Hockey had the same problem. Rugby has new rules and protocol to deal with concussion.

I do not watch Formula 1 either. Announcer screams all the time. Motorcycle races are worth watching. 250, 765 and 1000cc. Even E bikes, but I do not watch them. Maybe in a few years when I quit doing stuff, I can watch some senseless sports.

I love the football season. I take in as many games as I can.
I look at as entertainment…much like watching a movie.
It seem that these days every little thing gets analyzed and scrutinized. Whats the point of doing psychological studies of people who watch football versus those who don’t. The studies are a bigger waste of time than watching a football game in my opinion.

Thanks, I wondered why I don't care much for sports. Just being honest here. Even when the Olympics arrive, I cheer for my race more than my country, state, or city. I want Norway to do well. I enjoy hearing that the Broncos did great yesterday, but I'm not going to watch. I've often said I would rather go outside and throw a ball to my kids in the yard than go inside and watch someone do it well. When the video mentioned cars, my ears perked up. Groups seemed to have similar interests in other things besides just that one binding thing. I don't know any politically left-leaning geologists. Teachers, on the other hand, tend to lean left.

It's certainly not genetics whether I watch or not. I don't keep up with sports. Dad, on the other hand, watched, coached and refereed, if that's a word.

I'd rather go outside and play than watch a game.

Some truth in the vid; however it could be a combination of those things plus the fact that we see it as a mindless schoolyard game played mostly by illiterate felons...

The older I get I have become a never-satisfied sponge for information. I used to think, well, I'll look that up when I get to a library. Now it's all on the net. History, science (especially geology, physics, and the universe), and news. And then there's the car stuff, whether it's car investing, car repair, performance, etc. This was the "diversivied stimulation patterns." Probably why I ask so many questions. I picture myself on Jeopardy I guess.

I go to sleep and wake up watching science facts. This morning I learned about the Vesuvius volcano and later the Sahara Desert. The red sunsets in Florida are caused by dust from the Sahara. The pyramids are built with limestone blocks. Limestone is formed by dead calcareous marine life falling to the bottom of the seas. So the Sahara was underwater for millions of years. Also, the big oil fields in the Middle East had to come from buried plants and animals in a near-shore environment.

I never cared for any sports except automotive related, and then only marginally, until the age of 30.
At that time, my best friend got married and his new wife was a rabid football fan.
By default I had to at least be aware of football games when I was at their house.
My friend was not much of a sports fan, either.
...but slowly an appreciation crept in and we found ourselves able to rattle off statistics and opinions on strengths, weaknesses, and performance.

I now, do follow the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but not any other team, except if they are a critical future opponent.

It's all HER fault !

The good old days are gone....most of the team now are more interested in their haircuts, public image and their Instagram profiles, rather than concentrating on the game or even practice.

The All Blacks died for me when Richie hung up his boots and turned down a Knighthood on principal.

I would rather watch a game of Australian AFL these days..... more exciting to watch apart from the fact it takes about 4 hours to play 80 minutes.

Should I keep my Larry Csonka jersey? $63 on ebay, up to $200 new. Only worn during stuper bowl games.

Thus, the answer to the question, 'nature or nurtured '.

I used to enjoy watching football but I pulled away from it when I got the Charger in 2000.
Rainy days? Cold weather? Gloomy skies? Yeah, maybe then.
I can't help but be put off by the blatant social influence and virtue signalling. I don't need to have millionaire team owners pushing social issues on me.
Play the damned game and don't attempt to change my way of treating women or minorities.

I’m going take a guess and say the stretched out time of the game has something to do with penalties?

Entertainment, drinks breaks, injury stoppages...... honestly the AFL game I went to in Melbourne for the ANZAC weekend was a 4-hour marathon.

It was fun though.

Well I don't watch Psychologists.

They are to blame for the way kids act today.
