I'm at the finish line with the car that eclipsed all the others. I'm hoping Baby Blue ends up with another FBBO member who will take the car to Carlisle like I used to, and share the story.I just saw it for sale here…beautiful car and a great story. Thank you for finding the thread and updating it. Maybe a new riding your stable?![]()
I owned it for 16 years, and can attest to that.Looks like a pretty nice car for the price.
The torch is being passed yet again. Baby Blue for sale on this site. If I had space, I’d be tempted. If anyone here wants the back story, just ask.

That was to be my next project before I sold the car. My friend Sam had ordered a replacement, didn’t like the quality, and sent it back. Sold the car before he got a better one. I had the radiator re-cored as soon as I got the car home, should have done the heater core at the same time. With a leaking heater, on a quality car why would you not do a proper repair instead of removing it.
Looks like someone here bought it. Bob Miller called me to tell me. He was showing the for sale ad to his brother in law, and telling him the 50 year story from when he bought the car from the original owner in 1974.
I thought @Richard Cranium was the prime suspect, but maybe not.

Nice car stillWhen I bought the car for the second time in 2013, my friend Bob, who sold me the GTX the first time in 1983, rode with me to bring it home from Tennessee. I never test drove it, and the seller never counted the money. We drove 900 miles in two days, and had no issues. One of the things that made it possible was that the car has 99% OEM parts. Bob replaced almost everything with NOS pieces in the '70s.
