Hello there,

I have purchased from SUMMIT RACING an Edelbrock carburator 1406 for my 1971 Plymouth Satellite V8 318. (https://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/edl-1406/overview/)

I would like to know what Throttle Cable and Kickdown Cable I need and in addition the cable that goes from the carburator to the fuel pump. The transmission is Automatic.

If part numbers are available it would be easier.
Thanks in advance

Hi,

So I assume your car came with an automatic transmission, and maybe a 2bbl carb that you are now converting to a 4bbl. Your previous setup should have had a kickdown and throttle cable on a bracket that bolts to the intake manifold. I would reuse that and buy the small adapters that allows the existing parts to bolt to the Edelbrock carb.

I posted a picture below. Yes, I know it's picturing a Holley and it's a lousy picture, but you can at least see the bracket setup. Edelbrock makes a few carb adapters, you just need to get the right one(s)...

I actually just finished installing both a throttle and kickdown cable on my 440/727 combo with an Edelbrock. I used a knock off Lokar kickdown cable and bracket kit like this one on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/CHRYSLER-727-TRANSMISSION-KICKDOWN-CABLE/dp/B004W837Y2

You can spring the $97 for the Lokar cable, but then you will also need to invest an additional $30 to get the throttle bracket.

Bracket: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/lok-srk-4000/overview/

I found the knock off cable to be of good quality and a great value. I am very satisfied with it's fit and operation. Whichever you decide to choose is up to you, but I do recommend using Lokar's instruction manual for installation and can be found here: https://static.summitracing.com/global/images/instructions/LOK-INS0046-ChryslerKickdown.pdf

While installing the kickdown I accidentally broke my corroded factory throttle cable and ran down to the local parts store and picked up a Spectre universal piece. You do have to measure and cut this cable for proper fitment. I used the factory cable as a template to trim the new one. You can get this part online or at pepboys or autozone. http://www.autozone.com/fuel-system...raided-housing-throttle-cable-kit/536804_0_0/

When I get home tonight I will upload some pictures of my setup. If there any particular pictures you want to see let me know. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Yes the one from bucillion works great

I used the Lokar throttle and kick down cable with bracket and could be more happy with it. I would recommend that route for sure.

I will say that on the cables there is a piece of aluminum tube that looks like it should come off before you cut the cable to your length. DO NOT take it off, it won't go back on and you'll be buying it all over again.
