Hi all,
I've seen quite a few torque converter recommendation threads that got some good input so I hope you guys don't mind another one for my setup. I'm in the middle of rebuilding on a budget and figured now's a good a time as any to upgrade torque converters.

Year make and model: 1974 Dodge Charger SE
Cars weight engine size: 3700Lb / 360cid 5.9L
Trans: A904 Non Lockup
Rear end size and gearing:
Tire size: 275/60
Wheel size: 15"
Engine size and the modifications made: I say you 360cid 5.9L. Edelbrock manifold, I think the marking say Edelbrock "Performer 318/360". All I can get off the carb is "Holley" I can't see anything else till after I clean the damn thing.

As baseline reference: The 1974 FSM has stall numbers for a 318 matched with a 904 at 2125-2425rpm and a 360 matched with a 727 at 2300-2600rpm but nothing for a 360 matched with a 904. Further specs sheets shows peak torque for a 360 4bbl to be 290 @ 3200rpm.

Since this is a pretty mild setup I was thinking something like the TCI streetrodder would do?

Stop yelling at me, YOU'RE NOT MY REAL FATHER!
Whoa easy there! Your gonna give yourself a Brain aneurysm!!!!

My bad, phone difficulty with caps and bold and .... I gave up.
By "Stats Provided" I guess that means I'd have a dyno results to show or something. My bad. Thanks for the link!
Um, no.... what you did was post up a link that shows the reported power levels given from the company to the press. AKA, Bullshit. Kind of... LOL...

What anyone would need in order to even remotely suggest anything of this nature would be a list of YOUR CAR and not what was reported 20-30-40-50 years ago.

Let’s start with some of the very basics.

What the hell are you driving?
Year make and model.
Cars weight engine size

Engine size and the modifications made
Be informative and just don’t make yourself look like a stupid *** by saying some type of Edelbrock manifold. Look at the danm thing!
If you can’t figure out what intake it is, snap a shot and post it up! We will tell you what it is and anything else you may need to know!

Then tell ya what your expecting or wish from your combination.

Look! There’s a lot of brand new to car people that come to the forums and no one here (well, 99.9% ...) is out to give you **** and brow beat you because you don’t know. That’s just plain stupid for the forum, the hobby, yourself and of course the one beating you up.

Most of here use and NEED spell check because were just regular guys that know cars better than what we were taught in school.

Before you say anything, I like my engine bay like I like my butt. Nice and muddy.

What year engine?
The engine is ether a (“LA”) 360 or a later year 5.9 (also a 360) but the intake bolts to the head differently and the from acc. Drive parts are serpentine belt.

On the carbs air horn are numbers starting with the word “list.”

Hopefully on the rear end is a tag, probably a small rectangle that has the gear ratio stamped on it. Otherwise it is stamped on the ring gear and that is a messy way to know that ratio. But then again, fresh gear oil goes in! LOL!

27 steps nch tires and Hwy. gears. That must be slow off the line but have a crazy top end!
165+! Here I come!

Im scared of going 75+ in this bucket LoL. So much suspension stuff to fix on it eventually I hope to tame it. It's an LA 360 from a 74 Imperial supposedly. I'm not sure if it was originally a 4BBL or a 2BBL. The A/C was stripped. I'll check out those digits on the rear end and carb. Thanks man.
