Now that I feel like a total idiot I have a question. Just rebuilt my 318poly that I bought off Ebay....I had it checked out before assembly by a notable machine shop..took my time and double checked every move I made...installed it in car and engine will not turn....also cannot turn converter....me thinks there was a bushing in the end of crank I did not notice before install....I made a big mistake not doing that...my question is did I damage trans or converter?????? Am really down on myself for this......

If you just slid the converter in but didn't rotate it enough to let the slot engage and slide all the way home, you could have binding problems like you're describing.

Quick question. Was the Poly and tranny mated/dated before the engine rebuild ?

Thanks guys. The 318 poly I rebuilt was out of a 65 truck....pulling engine back out tomorrow and checking converter....might not be in all the way in...hope I did not break anything......

Check the pump closely for possible cracks.
Also check the size of the crank register and the size of the Torque Converter snout that fits into the crank.

Now have to pull trans, broke tabs on front pump....I know how to remove shift cable but how do I remove park cable??? Any help please....also will need to know how to install both when trans is fixed.....thanks in advance....
