Trans Linkage TTI headers Help needed

Looking for help with the transmission linkage for center console shifter. I am putting on a set of tti headers on the Motor and the linkage shaft needs modification on this 67 coronet. Anyone do this before? Any help appreciated. I cut the support plate and overlapped like TTI says but I am sure someone tried their Mods.

What model car is it ? It looks to be the stock shifter. Looks like the kickdown will work ok but I take it the shifter linkage hits the header when shifted into gear. Would you consider an aftermarket shifter ? Ron

It does hit, it is the stock shifter linkage. I want to try to keep it original. I cut the support and holding with channel locks until i decide to weld together. The car is a 67 Coronet clone RT
