Trick to removing door lock cylinders?

As title asks, are there any tricks to removing door lock cylinders? Trying to change my 63's out and according to manual its as easy as popping rod off, remove clip and wham. Well rod won't come off, popped its clip but it's got angles that won't let it slide out and trying to slip out cylinder and then get rid off not working. Help

If you have the cylinder clip off and cylinder loose from the door skin the rod should work out of the arm without removal of the c clip.
