Trunk weatherstripping replacement

Help me out fellas,,,,,,I'm replacing the weatherstripping on the trunk on my 64 savoy.........what works best to remove that old yellow adhesive.......and when the new one goes on is the black stuff better or the yellow........

Cant help ya with what works best to remove as I did paint/body...but for putting it on, I used 3M weather strip adhesive (black).

Just did the one on my 63 Sport Fury and lacquer thinner did the trick for me. Reinstalled mine with yellow 3M.
