Actually I bought one of those 'Granite-stone' skillets they keep advertising and when I tried to fry an egg in it, the damn thing stuck like epoxy!

:BangHead: Dam that sucks and I wanted to buy one.

IMO you can't beat a cast iron pan. I've tried different pans and came back to cast iron. ruffcut

I could never understand how they got that 'non-stick' surface to stick to the surface.

All frying pans have to be seasoned before the egg test.
That's what I thought but the instructions on the wrapper clearly said not to ad oil or butter or to season the pan first. It struck me as unusual but I figured maybe it actually worked as advertised. Boy was that wrong! I had to use a scouring pad to get all of the egg cleaned off. Since then I grease the holy crap out of it every time and that seems to work pretty good. It's not any better than any other pan, in fact not as well as most store bought 'so called' non-stick pans. It's just more Chinese crapola!

The newer Teflon pans with a but if oil are are the best pans with the non-stick coating. I have one but prefer my well-seasoned cast iron. At least, until my wrist gives out.

America's Test Kitchen had a good review on best frying pans.
