trying to find a 10 year old dodge diesel

A 10 yr old truck fitting your parameters should be easy to locate, however, Gen 1 Cummins are HARD to get, and, if you find one, the condition of it likely is trashed, good luck!

TDR is a great web site...spent a ton of time there when I got my truck in 04.

Its worth looking at

I've been looking for pretty much the same thing.

I brought home a '05 2500 tonight that I found on CarSoup.com. For my area, it was the best selection of Dodges of all the sites I checked. It was still 90 miles away, though.

I GOOGLED Dodge Truck Diesel Forums found this, www.ramforumz.com/ 33,500 members, www.cumminsforum.com/ , www.ramforum.com , I don't know these forums 1st hand, among a bunch more, I use to be a member of Dodge Dakota Forum, there were a bunch of Ram Diesel guys there too, but it's been years since I've been on there now...

We got one at the shop. Been there forever and a day. 2500 4x4. Gen1 Cummins. I don't know the condition of the engine, but since it's at our shop, it certainly needs a transmission. The guy it belongs to is supposedly gonna do some fence work for us but it aint materialized like it should have.....so I don't know what's gonna become of the truck. It would be a project. I can get some pics if you want.

What exactly are you looking for? 2wd or 4wd, single or dual wheel, regular or extended cab? If you go by 10 years from calender year then that's a 2002 which is the last year of the second generation body style with a 24 valve engine. If you go by model year (2013's being released right now) then that would be a 2003 which is the firsts year of the common rail engine and the new 4 door quad cab model. A true first generation Cummins truck is going to be a 20+ year old truck and as stated either they're beat to hell and not worth owning, or nice and the owners think they're worth their weight in gold.

www.cumminsforum.com has a lot of info, but just as with all internet forums everythign stated there has to be taken with grain of salt. They seem to have a lot of keyboard jockeys that know it all but may have never turned a wrench in their life.

Turbo Diesel Registry has a lot of good information, but I think you have to be a member to get to some of it. I don't know if they have a classified section though.

I would think if you're searching to buy then craigslist, ebay, and autotrader will probably be your best bet. Knowing the common problems associated with each style truck and knowing if any of them have been addressed already can be a big contributing factor when making a final decision. Good luck in your search. I've got 282K on my '03 and wouldn't trade it for the world.

The TDR site does have a classified section. You don't have to be a member to access that part of the site - just some other parts of the site.

I ordered my '01 in Feb of 2000 and took delivery 2 months later. I don't plan to ever sell it. In my opinion, there's nothing like a straight-piped 24 valver.:wtg:

I'm just curious but am I missing something here? The title of this thread states he's looking for a 10 year old Dodge Diesel. Every link or truck mentioned for sale is a first generation truck, 1993 and older. Last time I checked 1993 was more than 10 years ago. Just not sure how any of these posts are helpful when he stated what he was looking for? Good luck with your search man.
