I had to replace the turn signal cancel switch in my '68 Roadrunner. The switch is exactly like the original and everything works as it should but now I get this clicking noise everytime I turn the steering wheel either way. I was sure that I put everything back as it was but I am wondering now if there is something that I missed. Is there a wrong way to put the steering wheel back on ? This switch cost me $105, I sure don't want to break something and have to buy another one. Thanks for any advise.

I´ve got the same issue with my 64 Belvedere, according to my brother the problem is the thick round metal ring/wire that touches the canceling cam, you only have to take a file and notch the wire a little bit.

If the replacement switch caused the problem why not file the switch, if I remember correctly it's just a plastic tab? Can you fudge it one way or the other and get the clicking to stop? If so I'd check and make sure it's together correctly and free of binding. bought the expensive one from Year one and haven't had any issues. Good luck.

normal. The clicking went away after about 500 miles when I changed mine. I'm enjoying the self cancelling signals now.

I did think about filing the plastic (a little) but I don't want to screw something up so that it won't work right. I also did buy an expensive switch ($105.), NOT one made in China. I was told by more than one person that the China ones are junk. The one that I bought was made by the same company that made the originals for MOPAR back in the day. When I got it installed, it made that clicking noise so I took everything apart again and could not see anything installed incorrectly. Everything is plastic and I was just thinking that sometime, something is gonna break. Thanks for the good advise, I'll keep checking until I get it right.

I took my Dermel and ground a little off of the plastic part that was rubbing the metal ring. Everything seems to be just fine now. Thanks to everyone for helping me out with this.
