Nothing grew in the circle there for a year but when grass started coming back it was plusher, greener, & fuller.
Witness! Yeah, that happens. We've got a couple of those out here amongst the acreage, too.
My property is basically acreage of old pasture (with that really coarse "Johnson grass") that goes dormant
during drought, then greens back up and shoots up a half foot in a day after a decent rain.
The stuff is tough and hardy enough that it dulls mower blades - quickly.
Amongst all that though are two old burn pile locations, both round like the OP's - and both that stayed dead
after the fire for quite a while. Then some time later, woosh - bright green, very nice, lush grass appeared and
has remained to this day.
I didn't plant anything, didn't seed it or anything - heck, with acres to mow, I'm all about quick, not so much
landscaper quality - so this is surprising stuff to me. Kinda neat.
Ok, I'll go with "UFO" also.
