I'm going to see how much I can improve my original white '70 Charger upper door pads. Before I re-dye them black, please share your ideas on filling some of the bigger cracks in the vinyl. Thanks!

I had a minor crack jn my dashpad, I used superglue to fill it before I dyed it. Came out pretty good, but if you look close, it can still be seen.

I'd dye them then repair if you are going black anyway. They sell black vinyl repair, I used the permatex which is heat cured on the top of my rear seat where some dry cracks started. It's lasted the hot/cold cycles in Az for 3 years.

I would suggest you also buy a bunch of wooden cuticle tools, a box of toothpicks and a roll of parchment paper and a good set of cheaters/readers to help with your view. Toothpicks and the cuticle tools helped with the micro cracks, parchment helps ensure a smoothing surface and well the cheaters helped because I'm detail oriented to a a fault. I hade my entire seat on my workbench using a campers headlight.

I have not discovered a method to stop the cracks from getting larger if they receive direct pressure. Bad/dry vinyl never gets better.
