Hi, Have heard a lot of problems concerning leaks in the valley pan. Is their a proper way of sealing the intakes to keep from having any leaks? Or any special gasket set?
Thanks for any help from someone with more knowledge than I,
trim

Trim, it seems to be all over the map. What works for one, doesn't seem to work for others. I had an Eddy intake, and used the Eddy intake set. No luck. Went to Fel-pro, no luck there either. The intake bolts were always hard going in. Could the heads have been shaved at one time? Dont know. Advice here told me to ditch the gaskets and just use the valley pan with Permatex Hylomar sealant on both intake sides. That worked, and with no bolt alignment problems.

Heads and block could be milled too much without milling the valley rails. This would cause the bolt hole misalignment, and why it would work ok without gaskets.

I used to us the Fel-Pro bathtub gasket and spray Napa red High-Tack on the intake/head sides, then just use a bead of silicone on the rails and intake corners. Dont forget the end rail straps that go on last...:icon_thumleft:

Takin it in

Thanks "scotts74bird" and "69bee" for taking the time to help me. I'm takin it all in. I'm not sure if the heads have been shaved or not, so.... will look for all alternatives I can.
Again, Thanks, trim
