Value of Engine-Transmission?

So is this 440-4V and 727 combo worth $500? Engine and accessories, transmission, and radiator. It does run. Out of a 1973 Fury with about 90K on its clock. Did I make a reasonable deal, or what?

I would say so. Thats a killer deal for a complete running 440 with trans attached

Thanks for the reply Hemi Rebel. I was thinking it was definitely worth it, but then I began to doubt myself and wanted to get some opinions from the pros here. I do know my GF thinks I am crazy. I tried to explain the engine in my '73 Roadrunner wasn't correct since it was orange (from a '71) and that it really should be blue like the one I just brought home. So now she thinks I spent the money and drove 200+ miles just because I wanted a blue painted engine. Lordy, I think she may have me committed!

Unless it has been rebuilt and modified, the cast crank 73 is probably lower horsepower than the forged crank 71. I don't know if I would swap them out. That said, I agree with Hemi Rebel - y0u got a very good deal.

It's a good deal, I found a similar deal here for $600, but sadly I don't have any cabbage

Show her the difference in price for regular vs aviation gas. It will make more sense then.
