Whats the best paint to use on the mopar performance cast aluminum black valve covers?

VHT black wrinkle works great !

WTF is power coat? A coat with special powers?:poke: Send the valve covers to Leanne. She advertises on this site.

X3 or more for Leanna. Her work is superb! My covers were really messed up and she made them look over the top, better than new. About 15 years later after taking them off many times to adjust solid lifters they are still like new! (last photo)

Power coat or powder coat? I bought a powder coat kit some 15 years ago to coat rear axle housing and it's rock hard and holding up...apples & oranges maybe.

Powder coat

I'd say if your engine not very clean you might want to do something else.

The pokey stick gets extended a bit Hank -- my name is Leanna. LOL!! But I still appreciate your and all the other plugs!

Aron, I don't want to bum you out but the black wrinkle versions are the worst castings from the three styles that were available (polished, as cast or black wrinkle). After seeing literally hundreds cross my bench over the years, I believe the factory chose the best candidates for polishing and the worst ones were heavily painted to cover up the numerous flaws. (See the FAQ on my website -- there's an entire section devoted to them.) Customers who send the factory black wrinkle ones for resto typically pay me for 2-4 hours JUST on bodywork before they're even suitable for a multi-color job. Every set is different though, and some are better than others. Sadly you can't tell how bad they are until they're stripped. Big block versions are often so raw running your finger down the first valley under the knock out on the right can actually cut you open.

Feel free to call me if you have questions or want to go over your ideas.

Those are very nice looking

That binder reminds of a calendar. You should do a Mopar calendar, of your work.

I've done three, 2013, 2015 and 2018.
That's a page from my 2018 Powder **** Calendar. I'm putting together one for 2021 now. (https://www.forbbodiesonly.com/mopa...and-i-need-your-photos.203930/#post-911691594). Maybe your stuff can be in the next one?
